Celebrity couples - will they tie the knot?

Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia:

Preity Zinta is number 4 and Ness Wadia is number 3. This relationship is not a strong one. This is because both of them will have different views. They will get along as friends but their thoughts will not match. The biggest problem is that Ness Wadia’s name comes to number 29 which means that you can be ditched by your closest friends or associates or lover at any moment. Therefore chances of Preity Zinta calling off the realationship without any reason are very strong.

Is Preity Zinta getting married?

The latest gossip doing the rounds is that Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is set to tie the knot with Ness Wadia, the great grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The award winning Indian actress started dating Ness, son of Bombay Dyeing owners Nusli and Maureen Wadia, in February 2005, reports the Daily Times.

The couple’s relationship went through a bad patch earlier this year after singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy blamed Preity for her divorce with Shekhar Kapur.

Krishnamurthy alleged that the actress was having an affair with her director husband.

The news of the wedding has come after several reports of cold vibes between Zinta and Wadia's mother Maureen had been circulated by the media.

Has Preity Zinta lost her touch

Preity Zinta's career badly needs some uplift tratment just like her eyes. Aftre a string os successes in previous year the the pretty lass has had three successive failures in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Janeman and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - for which she got a lot of flak. She is seriously going through a very lean patch and also began to look a bit jaded.

Preity must have been disappointed by the third successive failure from the Yash Raj Films banner once reputed to have the midas touch, because she doesn't have too many films lined up.

She will be next seen in Rituparno Ghosh's English language film The Last Lear that co-stars Amitabh Bachchan. The film, which is currently in post production, is experimental in nature and has little chance of setting cash registers ringing. At best it could reinforce Preity's image as a good actor.

Preity is currently filming Mera Bharat Mahaan which has lately been in the news because of problems on its sets in Roopnagar, Punjab.

Preity recalls 'Jhoom Barabar' experience

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, whose recent performance in the multistarrer Jhoom Barabar Jhoom has received mixed reviews, says she, Abhishek Bachchan and Bolly Deol were exhausted doing the numerous dance sequences for the film which was shot in England.

'Abhishek, Bobby and I are all Aquarians. We were so exhausted because we were constantly dancing,' she said. 'There's a lot of dancing in Jhoom... Also, the lines were so funny. We had to work hard on getting it right. It's been a long time since I had so many funny lines to mouth.'

Preity also recalled the tough schedules they had while shooting for the film.

'We were located at the same place in London for such along time. We were there for three months at a stretch, and I was there right through,' she said.

'Fortunately Shaad works very quickly. But it was hectic and tough. I remember we shot Kiss of Love in the freezing cold. During one of the lavish sequences Shaad turned around to say, 'This is the most expensive film I've shot. Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli were lavish. But not like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
'You know Shaad has the typical boarding-school enthusiasm. Everything is the best, biggest.'

It's Preity, not Vidya or Madhuri in Shaji Karun's film

It had first been reported that actress Madhuri Dixit would be essaying the role of Suryamukhi in Shaji Karun's film by the same name, which is based on the life of iconic painter Raja Ravi Verma. Madhuri was the director's first choice followed by Vidya Balan, who was the second choice. But now it seems that the producers have zeroed in on Preity Zinta to portray the role of the painter's lover and muse.

The film deals with the relationship between the painter, to be portrayed by actor Madhavan, with a Maharashtrian woman who posed for his paintings. Apparently Ajay Devgan was the first choice for the role but the actor wasn't too interested. The director seems quite happy with Madhavan, who he feels has matured as an actor. Shaji has had the honour of taking three of his films to Cannes, and Suryamukhi could well be his fourth!

One table to share. Two hours to kill. Perfect setting for the start of a love-story. Hitch? Both Rikki and Alvira are engaged and have come to pick up their fiancés who are coming by the same train. To kill time, they end up telling each other their “how I met my fiancé” stories. Rikki met his fiancé Anaida (Lara Dutta) at The Ritz (Paris), the same night that Princess Diana and Dodi walked out of the hotel and into the paparazzi. As Rikki says, “When two lovers die, another two are a born”. They dance... they sing... they're in love! Alvira, a princess by nature discovers her prince at Madame Tussaud’s. When a gigantic wax model of Superman falls from the ceiling, Alvira is a sitting target. But Steve the Prince (Bobby Deol), a lawyer by profession saves her life but steals her heart! They also sing, they also dance and they also fall in love...Stories unfold, time passes, the two strangers start enjoying each other. That Alvira is a Pakistani Brit and Rikki originally from India... that Rikki is crooked, earthy, and rakish: dabbler in various businesses; that Alvira is prim-n-proper, wannabe blue-blood, stiff upper-lip: Asst. Manager at House of Fraser’s... none of these details matter. They have gotten alarmingly attracted to each other!Their brief encounter has created a complicated quadrangle... Rikki Thukral and Alvira Khan have gotten themselves and Steve and Anaida into a lovely mess... To get out of it both of them bend over backward, thinking quickly on their feet, dancing around each other’s emotions... After all when you’re playing musical chairs with love, there’s nothing you can do but... Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Dance Baby Dance)!

Preity Zinta refuses to talk about Ness Wadia

We start, as usual. Preity Zinta begins by announcing categorically that she doesn’t want to talk about her personal life and certainly not about boyfriend Ness Wadia. With some coaxing, she grumbles, “Do I have to talk about my personal life each time I give an interview?”

Well, interest in the personal life of a star is only natural, isn’t it? “I agree,” she says, “But at the end of the day, we end up speaking only about our personal life. I don’t bar the press from asking me personal questions, but I think this constant speculation and intervention in someone else’s life is just not done.”

Does that mean that Preity and Ness have not split, contrary to what the grapevine says? We are greeted with silence. Later, we gather that they are very much in touch with each other.

However, Preity is more than forthcoming about her work. She has just completed her first schedule of Rituparno Ghosh’s English film The Last Lear. She says, “It’s too early to talk about the film, because we have just begun shooting. I think Rituda is a fantastic director, who emphasises on small details. Plus, it is my first English language film, so I am extra-excited,” she says.

Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai, and Sushmita Sen have already worked in films in English. How has Preity’s experience been? “It’s different,” she laughs. “In so many years, I have worked only in Hindi. So, when Rituda gave me the dialogue, I felt somewhat different. Look, I don’t want to give any lectures on cinema and its language, I am too much of a rookie to talk about that,” she smiles.

Preity says visiting Kolkata after many years was a fun-filled experience. She went there last when she was in the eighth standard. “I was too small, and my memory was quite hazy,” she says. “I remember that the roads were narrow and there was too much traffic. But now the city has got a drastic makeover, there are many over bridges and bypass roads. The city is cleaner,” she says. Next time around, she intends to visit the Kali temple. “I will be coming back to Kolkata to shoot some scenes with Amitji,” she adds.

The actress is busy learning Bengali just to communicate with the unit members. “I don’t see any difference between Kolkata and Mumbai as far the work culture goes. In Kolkata they speak Bengali, and I have managed to learn few words so that I can survive comfortably,” she says.

Preity also like to gorge on fish cooked in mustard. “It’s just mouth-watering. Rituda gets yummy food from his place, and pampers me a lot on the sets,” she giggles.
