Naqaab is a Love Story. A Love Triangle. But Love Triangles are boring. And Love Stories are dime a dozen. So what's unique about this story?

The uniqueness is the films Directors Abbas-Mustan. And the Production House Tips Films. Also after the hit suspense thriller Humraaz, the trio Abbas Mustan, Akshaye Khanna and Bobby Deol are once again working together in Naqaab. Abbas Mustan, the men in white, would never make a straight love Story. Hence to say that our story is a romantic Thriller, would be an Under Statement. Well coming back to the story, let us first tell you that it is based on the scenic locales of Dubai.

A girl called Sophie (New find Urvashi Sharma), from the middle strata of Society, meets a Guy called Karan (Bobby Deol), belonging to the upper echelon of Society. Opposites Attract; Hence Sophie falls in love with Karan and gets engaged to him. Comes guy No. 2 - Vicky (Akshaye Khanna); He belongs to the girl's strata of society. Positives come close too. Hence Sophie inspite of being engaged to Karan, starts falling for Vicky.

So what's new about this story??

The girl - Sophie has a past that seems to be threatening her future...

The guy - Vicky also has a past that can jeopardize the girl's future

And the rich guy Karan, too has a gruesome past, that will... If unleashed Shatter all the three lives.

Besides, to top it all, there is a fourth element to the story.....

A mysterious man... who seems to be monitoring all the three

Characters. Do you want to know more??

Well... You will have to watch it in the theatres.

Akshaye Khanna's Salsa dance in 'NAQAAB'

Producer Ramesh Turani and Kumar S Turani of Tips Film is coming with their most shocking thriller of the year,' Naqaab', very soon. This film cast consists of Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol and debutant model cum actor Urvashi Sharma.

Though it is a musical thriller the interesting part is director Abbas Mustan and the Taurani brothers have decided to keep a salsa dance in this film.

This dance will be performed by Akshaye Khanna and newcomer Urvashi Shrama. Earlier the talented Akshaye didn't get a chance to show his dancing skill to any of his films but this time he has got a chance to show his talent as a dancer.

Choreographer Raju Khan has been choreographed this dance sequence. According to Raju Khan, Akshaye Khanna has a flexible body so it was not so difficult for him to train him to get the steps right.

Before the final take both the actors has done few rehearsals to perform the best on screen. Salsa is an extremely sensual dance genre that needs a certain chemistry and comfort level between the pair. And choreographer Raju khan was extremely happy to see both the actors performing salsa so comfortably.

After the success of 'Humraaz' Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna will be seen together again in Naqaab.' Humraaz' was also a thriller which was critically acclaimed by almost everybody.

This time Akshaye Khanna is again doing a thriller not only that he is pretty excited about the newcomer Urvashi Sharma too. According to him Urvashi is having a professional attitude and she is an interesting part of this movie.

Naqaab - A Movie Review

Cast: Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Urvashi Sharma, Vikas Kalantri

Producer: Kumar S. Taurani, Ramesh S. Taurani

Director: Abbas Burmawalla, Mustan Burmawalla

Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty

Release Date: 13 July 2007

Abbas-Mustan is probably one of the best director duos in the Indian film industry and like some other directors have their own specialization – thrillers. In Naqaab, they are back doing what they do best. This will be their second release after Race and this time round, they have brought back hit Humraaz jodi Akshaye Khanna and Bobby Deol. Debuting in the film is Urvashi Sharma, a model who has also done some music videos.

Being marketed as the most shocking thriller of the year, Naqaab revolves around a middle-class girl Sophie (Urvashi Sharma). Sophie is engaged to a millionaire Karan Khanna (Bobby Deol). Vicky Malhotra (Akshaye Khanna), a struggling actor, is very ambitious and will do anything to reach his goals. He catches Sophie's attention and her relationship with him leads to problems with Karan. The story then goes into the flashback mode where the past of the three characters clearly shows the links to the future.

The promos have managed to create enough curiosity around the film. Besides the promos, the music of the film is also causing a buzz on the popularity charts. This marks the first time Pritam teamed up with Abbas-Mustan.

No film shooting is complete without anecdotes during production. While shooting for Naqaab, Akshaye Khanna found a way to keep himself entertained on the sets. During breaks, he would goad people into playing chess with him and beat them hollow with his carefully planned strategies. For the first time, Akshaye will do the salsa with Urvashi on-screen and choreographer Raju Khan is all praises for the actor’s dancing skills.

While Naqaab awaits release, here’s some interesting trivia surrounding the names of the characters played by Bobby and Akshaye in the film. In Humraaz, Akshaye's name was Karan Malhotra. While he retains the surname Malhotra in this film, the name Karan was given to Bobby. Akshaye has borrowed Shah Rukh Khan’s name in Baazigar. Shah Rukh had adopted the name Vicky Malhotra in the film to achieve his goal. Karan was the name of the inspector who investigated Shilpa Shetty’s murder. Vicky was also Bobby's name in Soldier, one of the biggest hits of his career. Looks like these names are good luck charms for the director duo. Whether they will work their magic this time round remains to be seen.
