Ranbir Kapoor's female fans are in for a disappointment. The towel in his much-celebrated Jab se tere naina number stays in place.
The shot of the towel dropping has been deleted by the censorboard.
According to the team that accompanied director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to the censoring the director was offered the choice of keeping the nude shot with an Adults certificate.
But the filmmaker didn't want to lose an extremely large crucial portion of the potential audience for one shot.
"In fact several members of the censorboard who loved the film suggested I take the cut and go with the 'U' certificate. Though in principle I'm against any cuts beyond my creativity this one time I agreed. The shot doesn't really make any difference to the flow of my story," says Sanjay.
With the censor certificate, the film is all set for release on November 9.
Sony Pictures seems pleased enough with Saawariya to offer Sanjay Leela Bhansali yet another film.
Says the Sony CEO, Uday Singh, "Saawariya is an extremely high-calibre product. We'd love to have him make another film for us. We can only hope that his experience with us has been as fruitful as our experience of working with him. And that he'd take up our offer of making another film for us."

"I don't exchange numbers with co-stars." - Kangana Ranaut
There has been a mystery to Kangana Ranaut. She has not bothered to clarify on most controversies surrounding her. Finally, she lets her guard down in an interview.
Why have you often refrained from speaking to the media? Do you have an attitude problem? There's so much to ask you...
I am a lonely person. I don't exchange numbers. I keep to myself. Attitude comes to a person who has fame and money. I have neither (pauses). Okay, shoot. Today, I will talk.
Many Bollywood heroines are game to the surgeon's knife for silicone boobs. Your take on that?
They are also going in for silicone hips, and not to forget, collagen lips. These girls feel that this is the best way to attract men and become a sex symbol. Little do they realise that it has an adverse effect on health. I have heard men talking about big boobs and big ass. I want to ask men. What matters to them- a nice pair of boobs or a girl with a nice nature? I will never get carried away.
You still seeing Aditya Panscholi?
I was never seeing Aditya Panscholi.
You were staying either in his flat with his family, or in a flat given by him?
No. Since two years, I have been staying in a 1-BHK at Yari Road. Few months back, I purchased a 3-BHK on Turner Road in Bandra. I will be shifting there in a month or two. How can I stay in a married man's house?
Does this mean that you stay alone?
I used to stay alone. But now my younger sister from Dehradun has moved in with me.
Did Aditya become very possessive about you at one point? Those police complaints that you hadfiled against each other...
(Interrupts) It is very difficult to make anybody understand. There are some bonds which one can't be given names and explained. He was a genuine friend.
He promoted you in Bollywood?
There was no way that he could promote me.
You are still in touch with him?
No. It ended. But I am sure that we are there for each other if we need any help.
Shiney gave you acting tips in Woh Lamhe and Gangster, and you got pissed off?
No, Shiney did not give me any acting tips.
There was an uncomfortable silence between you and him on the sets?
I told you that I don't mix up with anybody. I don't have not only Shiney's number but also Emraan, Bobby and Upen's. I am game to doing another film with Shiney. If he has a problem with me, I am not aware of it.You moved out of Vishesh Films?
I haven't moved out per se. After Woh Lamhe, Bhatts made me listen to two or three scripts. I didn't like those scripts. Hence, I signed up with other production houses.
You turned down Pooja Bhatt's Dhokha?
That time, I was committed to Metro and Shakalaka Boom Boom. She wanted the same dates. How could I do it?
And Mahesh Bhatt's Jannat too?
Jannat 's director Kunal Deshmukh had narrated a different script to me. I had loved that script but he hadn't decided on the hero. What he is making now with Esha Deol is a different script. When he makes the first one, I will definitely work with him.
Suneel Darshan told you to come out from the Bhatt camp?
I am a focused person. I wouldn't follow anybody's advice.
That doesn't answer my question, does it?
Suneel told me that I should be working in bigger projects. He felt that Gangster was not a commercial film.
Shakalaka Boom Boom was a mistake?
I wouldn't put it that way. I tried something different. It didn't click, that's another story. If you ask me, the film failed on many levels. Mainly, it went wrong in screenplay.
Are you doing Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion?
I have signed up with UTV for two films. Madhur is still not ready with the script. But knowing him, I am sure that he'll have a good script. However, I would like to see my role before giving my consent.
A Bollywood actress stalker called Miraj threatened you that you should come for an 'overnight stay' else....?
It wasn't for an 'overnight stay' (laughs). He was threatening my business manager Jai that he will kill him. He said that he has a script and wants me to act in some film.
Samir Karnik's Roshan opposite Bobby Deol.
What you do when you're not shooting?
I go to my dance guruji in Versova. Or I hit the gym, or do meditation and yoga.
Mukesh Bhatt had said that you are a combo of Madhuri and Sridevi?
Every producer has emotions for the newcomer whom he launches. Come on, I know where I stand. I have a long way to go.

Bipasha Basu to feature in mobile games
Mumbai, August 14: Mobile gamers and fans of Bipasha Basu have a lot to look forward to. Games publishing company Jump Games Tuesday announced its two-year, worldwide contract with her to create and distribute a serial of mobile games featuring the glamorous Bollywood actor.
The first game of the series will be titled Bipasha Basu Jet Ski Champ. In the game Bipasha will be seen as a master Jet Ski rider challenging the world's best to an adrenalin-pumping jet-ski ride across exotic circuits.
Bipasha's fans will be able to play as a character in Jump Games' latest speed fest.
'This is something novel for me and I am looking forward to a fruitful gamming association with Jump Games,' said the actor.
'Through these games my fans will get to see the athletic, adventurous and skillful side of me,' said Bipasha, who is an avid sports fan.
'It's (the game) a conscious effort to choose my films and related work to bring out my sporty, exploratory persona. Lets hope my fan like it.
'Bipasha is one of the most successful celebrity brands around today and her personality lends wonderfully to games. We are hopeful that the titles created for her will do well,' Jump Games CEO Salil Bhargava told IANS.
'Apart from this game, there are two other titles in the pipeline, which will feature Bipasha in completely different avatars. One will be a casual title based on the popular urban sport of bowling. The second title will have Bipasha playing a sci-fi princess all set to save the planet from galactic enemies,' Bhargava said.
In India, Jump's games can be accessed and played on networks like Hutch, Idea, BSNL and Reliance World.

'Nobody got physical with me!'
Saif has just completed a grueling schedule of Yashraj Films' Tashan in Ladakh.
He returns to stories in Mumbai about getting into a 'scuffle' over Kareena with rowdy fans in Ladakh.
Says Saif, "That's not quite correct. Yes, there was an unpleasant incident. But it didn't end with me getting physical with anyone."
So what happened? "Some guy wanted to shake hands with Kareena. The lady didn't want to. We requested the 'fan' to respect her feelings. The guy chose to get offended and called five of his friends."
Ever since Saif and Kareena came together for J.P. Dutta's LOC they've shared a very special bonding.
So it comes as no surprise if Saif stepped in to rescue Kareena from aggressive fan attention.
However before anything untoward could happen in Ladakh , Saif and the Tashan team called security. Laughs Saif, "If they were 5, we called 11 persons from security. For a while there was a loud and heated argument in Marathi, and that was that.
However let me repeat, I didn't have to resort to physical violence to protect the lady. The security intervened quickly."
Incidentally Saif has grown a moustache for his role in Tashan. "It's part of that discipline I've acquired during Omkara. There, I was so apprehensive about shaving off my head.
Once I got over the typical star-vanity of looking glamorous I realized a physical makeover makes a helluva difference to the characterization. Watch out for more of Saif's altered physicality in his coming films.

I'm not jealous of Malaika's success
Arbaaz and and his high-profile wife Malaka Arora are finally working together in Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh's first Hindi film.
Says Arbaaz, "I play the lead in Lankesh's film Shaadi Ke After-effects Malaika does an intem song with me. Though my wife in the film is played by Tara Sharma I loved being on screen with Malaika."
After the success of the film and his role in Shootout At Lokhandwala, Arbaaz is looking forward to Lankesh's film. "After Shootout… I am glad to be in a light-hearted film, on the lines of The Seven-Year Itch. I'm trying to change my image with this film.
I'm tired of being known as a serious guy. Close friends like Sajid Khan know me as a very funny guy. Lankesh's comedy is the story of a married guy with a roving eye. I dance and sing with Malaika in a dream song."
A situation Arbaaz would never be. Though he plays a jealous and possessive husband in Hansal Mehta's Woodstock Villa, Arbaaz Khan is anything but that in real life.
"I'm quite comfortable being the husband of a woman who's a big celebrity. And of course a superstar's brother. It's not an enviable place to occupy. But it's the reality. I'm very closely related to two very successful people, and I accept that happily."
It's not easy having a superstar-brother (Salman) and a stunningly beautiful wife Malaika. "But I don't fight their presence in my life. I know their celebrity status is a reality in my life. I'm very closely connected to two very successful people.
But I love my brother and my wife so much that I want them to grow from strength to strength. And though Salman is where he is on his own, I'd like to take some credit for where Malaika are. We've been together for fourteen years. Even before she was my wife and the mother of child I was very encouraging and supportive.
I've always encouraged her to work. I've always believed, if you love someone then let that person occupy the space that makes her happy. That in turn, brings you tremendous happiness." In public Arbaaz always has to take a second position to his glamorous wife. Ask him if he minds.
"Not at all. It's so strange. Before marriage people want everyone to look at their girlfriends. But after marriage they want to keep their wives locked way. I'm as proud of Malaika today as I was before we got married." He sighs and then says, "All you need to do is be sensible about life and what it offers. By allowing yourself to get upset over matters such as these, you're only encouraging negativity to creep into your marriage."
He says he's clearly a better father than a husband. "You go through so many roles in life. I may or may not have disappointed Malaika as a boyfriend and a husband, but not as the father of her child. I know for sure my son will grow up one day to say I was a great dad."
Arbaaz is happy looking after their son when Malaika is working. "We want a baby girl in the near future…maybe next year. Right now we both have professional commitments to keep us busy. Life is such today that couples have to plan their baby for the right time."
As an actor Arbaaz feels charged and ready to start a new phase in his career. "I feel I wasn't focused enough. I've now taken the reins in my hand. I'm giving my hundred percent to my career. If I fail I won't have any regrets."

I'll never get a boob-job done
Kangana Ranaut who once boasted about her serene nature and flawless skin is now all stressed up. Perhaps hard life in a metro, work pressure and erratic hours are taking toll on this small-town actor's health.
But her hard work has paid her well. After two years of hardship Ranaut has bought her dream home at Turner Road.
“It was way too expensive but I am stubborn and so I decided to buy it. I’m moving in the next two months. The apartment is currently being done up. It’s got three rooms — one for me, one for my sister and one for my parents, whenever they visit,” she tells.
Kangana has been saving to pay the installments, reportedly getting paid Rs 75 lakh per film, and spending next to nothing on other activities.
Incidentally, Rani and Priyanka are also shifting into their dream homes in the next few months. “It’s a race to the finish between us,” says Kangana.
But she keeps this healthy competition on the home front only because when it comes to looks Kangana is pretty satisfied with what she has got.
In a candid interview recently she said that she will never go through a boob-job. Even though most of her fellow stars have had silicone implants she is in no hurry to increase her bust-size. According to her she will put more weight on her acting than on other places.
Says Kangana, "These girls feel this is the best way to attract men and become a sex symbol, but little do they realise that it has an adverse effect on their health. I will never get carried away. I’ve often heard men talk about buxom women but I want to know what matters more: a nice pair of boobs or a girl with a good heart?"
